ABOUT THE BENCH

I teach 4th–6th graders the engineering habits that matter: read the schematic, guess the failure, test it, and let the smoke stay in the resistor where it belongs. My classroom is a bench — breadboards and 9-volt batteries one day, a digital microscope aimed at solder joints the next.

My graduate training was in the physical sciences; my evenings are an acoustic guitar, an improv stage, and a soccer sideline. The through-line is the same as the grit you learn from a circuit that won't light: breathe, re-check polarity, try again. That patience is the real curriculum.
